We have a current opportunity for a Quality Assurance Leadlocated at our facility in San Jose, CA. Redwire is seeking a QA Lead for our Space Missions business unit. The position will support all aspects of the Space Missions Quality Management System (QMS). In this position you will be partnered with Engineering and supporting organizations in order to drive the quality and compliance of the products. While reporting to the Director of Mission Assurance, you will work closely with Senior Management, Program Management, Operations, Engineering and Finance in assuring compliance to business process as well as contractual requirements. A thorough understanding of AS9100 quality management and project management is required and integral to driving continuous improvement; value added solutions, achieving near term solutions, as well as being predictive in identifying early warning prior to situations degrading. This highly visible role is an excellent opportunity for an exceptional individual to become integral to the development of Redwire space products.

Pay Range: $128,112 - $160,140
How We Determine What We Pay (Compensation Philosophy)
Redwire determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data, for our locations throughout the US. We will evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index, in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company. For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant's level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will be considered for higher pay.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for technical support on any component, assembly or subassembly issue that rises at assembly, inspection or test which requires QA Engineering interpretation and resolution based on acceptance or rejection criteria
- Needs to be a hands-on leader willing to take responsibility for resolving technical challenges and ensuring successful tactical execution
- Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining program quality plans and procedures
- Responsible for establishing a facility quality presence
- Ensures that performance and quality products conform to established company and regulatory standards.
- Reviews, analyzes, and reports on quality discrepancies and data related to production. MRB experience required
- Investigates problems and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies
- Perform inspections of flight hardware to ensure conformance with applicable technical and workmanship requirements
- Interfaces with customer representatives to ensure requirements are met
- Prepare end item data packages for shipment to customers
- Recommends corrective actions, process optimization and modifications
- Serve as a resource for all Redwire, San Jose staff in implementing the QMS, helping individuals to understand the processes, find the resources they need, and tailor the processes to the needs of their work as appropriate
- Manage and maintain Systems Quality documents, training materials and records
- Work with an ERP and/or document management system
- Demonstrate commitment to documentation and traceability throughout the organization
Ideal Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical area, with 8-10 or more years of related experience
- Previous Quality Assurance experience in Aerospace or Space industry, to include Knowledge of workmanship standards, IPC J-STD-001
- Prior experience in a functional leadership capacity. Including experience working with and coaching quality personnel and cross functional teams
- Experience planning, organizing, and reporting on supplier quality-related activities to assure fulfillment of contract/purchase order requirements
- Professional experience preparing reports, metrics, and other documents in support of annual Management Reviews
Desired Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical area, with 12 or more years of experience in Aerospace or Space industry
- Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
- Knowledge of NASA STD 8739.1., NASA STD 8739.4. and Spcae System Command standards for space flight hardware and software
- Individual will need to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization and business
- AS9100 Lead Auditor certification or the ability to become certified
- Experience with the life-cycle processes associated with the development of space flight hardware and software
- Ability to work in an environment with competing priorities is necessary
- Must be able to work in a cross-functional team environment
