Position Overview
  • The Sr. Manager, IT Systems Infrastructure is responsible for the planning, design, support and management of the core systems infrastructure. This position will be responsible for the design and operation of the Microsoft/Unix based servers and applications as well as the related storage, virtualization, and other datacenter and cloud-based technologies required to keep the company's global business operational. In addition, this role is responsible for managing managers and a global team of systems engineers and administrators that will implement, support and maintain these systems in compliance with company and client provided SLAs. This is a multi-faceted role encompassing the following; ensuring the architectural integrity and compliance of the infrastructure meets or exceeds industry and vendor standards, defining process and operational frameworks for the systems infrastructure globally, overseeing implementation projects for new technologies and upgrades and driving the team to continuously improve availability.
  • The ideal candidate for this position will have prior experience as a technical solution and/or systems architecture design expert in a large virtualized enterprise environment. The candidate should also have extensive experience delivering IT integrated solutions, developing technical strategy and acting as an SME to program/project teams in the planning, design, and delivery of solutions. In addition, the candidate should have demonstrated experience in IT project management and managing managers and a team of systems engineers and administrators.


Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage a Global team consisting of Managers, Systems Engineers and Administrators tasked with implementing and supporting the related enterprise infrastructure systems
  • Lead analysis and evaluation of the current IT infrastructure environment to detect critical deficiencies and drive solutions for improvement
  • Develop implementation plans for key aspects of enterprise architecture based on business requirements and IT strategies
  • Lead research, discovery, planning, and implementation efforts to improve business processes
  • Participate in detailed analysis to align requirements and equipment configurations with defined system specifications
  • Participate in R&D activities for new technologies
  • Lead recommendation and selection of preferred technologies
  • Standardize processes and technology in the corporate datacenters
  • Develop, improve, validate, and use tools to facilitate enterprise architecture efforts
  • Lead analysis of technology industry and market trends to determine their potential impact on the enterprise architecture
  • Develop and enforce standards across the datacenter and remote sites for core infrastructure architecture
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and support in the deployment of complex applications in global distributed computing environments
  • Provide broad understanding of platforms and applications across all technologies
  • Verify technical components of enterprise architecture
  • Define the application architecture, commercial tools, and stated project and program objectives
  • Recommend applications to accomplish long-range objectives
  • Design technical infrastructure of applications (including databases, utilities, and testing approaches)
  • Consult with internal development project teams to fit infrastructure to architecture
  • Identify when it is necessary to modify the technical architecture to accommodate infrastructure needs
  • Consult with project teams to fit projects to enterprise architecture
  • Identify when it is necessary to modify the enterprise architecture to accommodate project needs
  • Ensure compliance with security and architecture principles and standards for the various systems and components
  • Work with project teams across the organization to develop and apply standards


Qualifications
  • Extensive VMware Technologies experience (Virtualization, VDI, VCloud, VSan)
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008/2012/2016
  • Unix/Linux OS Technologies
  • OS based Clustering and HA technologies
  • Microsoft SQL Clustering and HA
  • High Availability systems and design (HA, DRP, etc.)
  • Storage Systems HPE / Dell / Nimble
  • Ethernet and fiber-channel networks (Brocade, HP, Cisco)
  • Experience with implementation of iSCSI SAN, FCSAN and NAS Storage
  • PCI-DSS and HIPPA Security standards and configuration
  • Understanding of server and network performance within an enterprise business application environment
  • Participation in change management processes and use of enterprise standard change control procedure

Physical Requirements
  • BS degree, IT/telco/business or related field
  • 15 years of IT related experience
  • Microsoft Certifications
