Summary
Redwire Sensors group is a developer of satellite power system solutions, flight cameras, and imaging systems.We have an exciting opportunity for aContract - Sr. Level Systems Engineer at our Marlborough, MA facility for a period of 6 months, with the possibility of extension. The Systems Engineering function within the Sensor engineering team is responsible for providing product and technology architecture ownership with product development teams. Within the product development life cycle, system engineers develop product architecture and functional derivations, own system, and production functional modeling, conduct and lead trade studies, conduct requirement decomposition and management, and develop and manage verification and validation plans.

Responsibilities
- Establish technical baselines and develop systems engineering plans for design and development verification.
- Define, create, document, implement, and communicate engineering requirements across a diverse space product and space systems business.
- Support the deployment of proactive engineering processes focused on compliance to customer's requirements while meeting business objectives and mitigating risk.
- Support multidiscipline engineering (electrical, mechanical, optical, and thermal, etc.) guidelines and design principles throughout the product lifecycle, from prototype to flight hardware delivery.
- Serve as responsible systems engineer for internal and customer facing technical reviews.
- Work in concert with the development and implementation of Mission Assurance, Operational Improvement, and Lean Initiatives across the company.
- Provide technical Subject Matter Expertise for internal processes, including failure reviews, root cause correct actions, non-conformances, and engineering change orders.
- Interface with customers to interpret and negotiate technical requirements.
- Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, continuous improvement and design optimization across the organization.
Ideal Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Aerospace or related field.
- 5 years or more years' experience in aerospace engineering or space-related discipline.
- Experience knowledge and experience with Systems Engineering tools and methods.
- Experience inrequirement decomposition and management strategies.
- Experience conducting systems engineering in accordance with the NASA System Engineering handbook.
- Experience withstage-gate review processes and Agile development methods.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience developing or owningprocesses within an AS9100 or similar accredited environment.
- Ability to obtain a Clearance.
- Ability to travel - some limited travel may be required.
Desired Skills
- Post graduate degree in Engineering, Aerospace, or related fields.
- Proven track record ofproduct development experience across 8 or more years.
- Strong attention to detail with advanced verbal and written communication skills.
- Recognized space industry specialist with insight into multiple engineering fields and disciplines.
- Experience with product roadmaps and technology maturation planning.
- Comprehensive understanding of space design best practices and lessons learned as well as spacecraft environmental requirements such as radiation effects.
- Familiarity with spacecraft Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC), sensors, and attitude control components.
- Working knowledge of optics, optical payloads, and optical systems.
- Familiarity with machine learning for Rendezvous, Proximity Operations, and Docking (RPOD) and Space Situational Awareness (SSA) applications.
- Understanding of SysML and MBSE (Model-Based Systems Engineering).
- Experience and training in safe handling protocols for flight hardware, including cleanroom and ESD standards.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office 365, including SharePoint and Team. Microsoft Project experience a plus.
- TS/SCI Security Clearance.
