JOB OVERVIEW

The Associate Counsel will report directly to the Senior Vice President, Legal Affairs and will be responsible for providing timely and effective legal services both domestically and internationally. Core practice areas include: (i) negotiation and management of commercial contracts (e.g., MSAs, SOWs, amendments, NDAs, etc.), real estate leases, and other contracts as needed, (ii) employment and HR matters, (iii) privacy and data protection matters, (iv) conduct pre-litigation and/or internal ethics investigations, (v) support vendor due diligence reviews, and (vi) provide general legal advice and support. The successful candidate will be comfortable operating independently with internal stakeholders across departments and international jurisdictions.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

The candidate must have the following attributes:
  • Demonstrated ability to independently perform substantive legal tasks while collaborating with stakeholders in fast-paced business environment.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in response to evolving business requirements, possess outstanding oral and written communication abilities, and exhibit strong organizational skills.
  • Thorough understanding of, and commitment to, serving as a strategic business partner to both management and corporate clients.
  • Capable of assuming significant responsibility and an in-depth understanding of the company from both a business and legal point of view.
  • Ability to translate legal advice into clear, actionable guidance for non-legal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate self-motivation and exercise sound judgment.
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team, and maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity.

EDUCATION
  • JD from an accredited law school; admitted to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

EXPERIENCE
  • 2-3 years legal experience - law firm training and/or meaningful in-house experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements; working knowledge of corporate governance.
  • Experience with employment law, litigation or litigation management, intellectual property, and privacy matters.
