About the Job:

Direct/manage/lead North America manufacturing engineering operations. Oversee the development, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing processes within a company, leading a team of engineers to ensure efficient production, high quality standards, and cost-effectiveness by designing and improving manufacturing techniques, equipment, and workflows, while aligning with overall business goals and regulatory compliance,requiring strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of manufacturing operations and

Collaborate with product development and manufacturing operations teams, define organizational goals and strategic plans, review technology roadmap, align capabilities and ensure synergy between manufacturing sites where applicable.

What You Will Do:

  • •Direct North America manufacturing engineering group with a focus on identifying and implementing process improvements to increase production efficiency, eliminating waste, and enhance product quality, utilizing methodologies like Lean Manufacturing automation methods utilizing computer automation, automated handling, IoT, interactive applications.
  • •Lead cross-functional teams in the design, development, and implementation of new manufacturing processes and equipment, managing project timelines, budgets and deliverables
  • •Analyze manufacturing costs, identify cost reduction opportunities, and implement strategies to optimize production costs
  • •Ensure compliance with quality standards, work instruction development and accuracy, and implement corrective measures for quality control issues including maintaining PMEA and Control Plans
  • •Work collaboratively with other departments including operations, design engineering, quality assurance, and supply chain to ensure alignment and smooth operation flow
  • •Review product roadmap with Engineering and align operational capabilities
  • •Coordinate with NPI teams, engineering, operations, quality to ensure smooth transitions from development to production release.
  • •Develop standard practices and capabilities between all manufacturing sites and stimulate synergy amongst locations
  • •Generate local departmental expenses and CAPEX budgets
  • Review GP and CM data and develop improvement initiatives
  • Travel up to 50%, to manufacturing sites may be required

What You Need:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Extensive experience in manufacturing engineering, including process development, equipment selection, manufacturing automation & tooling, and production optimization
  • Understanding of safety regulations and compliance requirements within the manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • A master's degree in management of engineering field preferred. DOE / Statistical Analysis / LEAN background highly desirable.
  • 15+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering in electronics environment of which 5 years had management responsibility
  • Computer skills; Microsoft Project, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Auto-Cad (LT), knowledge of ERP system functionality,
  • Strong oral and written communication, presentation and leadership skills
  • Mechanical fixture design
  • Factory Automation

WORKING CONDITIONS

Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Must be able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time; able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach on a daily basis; able to perform general office administrative activities: copying, filing, delivering and using the telephone; able to lift and move up to 34 pounds occasionally.

Our good faith estimate for the salary for this position is $199,636 - $232,183. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and other factors.

This position requires on-site presence at Spellman High Voltage Headquarters in Hauppauge, NY .
