Finance:

Datadog's Finance team collaborates with teams across the organization, providing commercial, operational and analytical support to ensure that Datadog's business continues to grow as rapidly and efficiently as possible.

The Opportunity:

Datadog is seeking a Director, Financial Transformation and Systems to lead our evolution of financial operations with an agile systems strategy, streamlined process design, and thoughtful project execution. You will own the roadmap and delivery of scalable financial systems architecture with a particular focus on ERP (NetSuite), procure-to-pay optimization (ZIP), and data automation (Tableau, Snowflake). This role is central to enabling our global finance organization to meet growing business complexity with thoughtful systems architecture.

This leader will collaborate deeply with stakeholders across Accounting, Revenue, Procurement, FP&A, and Compliance, guiding a high-performing team through cross-functional transformation initiatives. We are looking for someone who combines technical depth, process intuition, and project leadership, with a passion for solving complex problems through systems-driven solutions.

At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships and collaboration it builds and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.

What You'll Do:
  • Own and Drive Finance Transformation Programs: Lead front-to-back transformation initiatives that touch key finance domains such as Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, Record-to-Report, Tax, and Hire-to-Retire. Champion simplification, automation, and better data across the finance tech stack, with a relentless focus on operational scalability and accuracy.
  • Lead and Develop a High Impact Team: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of financial systems and transformation analysts, ensuring the successful execution of projects and the continuous development of team members. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages innovation, accountability, and professional growth while driving the team to deliver high-quality solutions that meet the organization's financial systems needs
  • Optimize Systems: Own design, implementation, and administration of our financial system - NetSuite, Zip, Pigment, FloQast, Brex, and others - using native and customized functionality ensuring scalability and complexity are addressed in solutions and integrations.
  • Strategic Project Management: Manage and oversee end-to-end enhancement projects across finance and other departments, including project planning, stakeholder engagement, timeline management, testing, deployment, and comprehensive documentation.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs, translate these into system requirements, and deliver solutions that align with strategic objectives.
  • System Training and User Support: Lead the training and support initiatives for system end-users, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and tools needed to effectively use the financial systems.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements, system optimizations, and automation that can improve efficiency and accuracy across financial operations.
  • Build a Culture of Enablement and Data Stewardship: Use data (e.g., Tableau, SQL, system logs) to proactively surface improvement areas and track adoption.

Who You Are:
  • Transformation-Focused Experience: Proven experience leading operational change in a finance setting, not just building systems. You've simplified, automated, and reimagined how teams work.
  • Extensive Functional Experience: In-depth functional experience with financial processes in NetSuite, Zip and related systems, with a proven ability to design and optimize workflows and integrations.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of databases and system integration capabilities of NetSuite with various SaaS providers
  • Technical Acumen: Familiarity with SQL, Tableau, and middleware platforms (e.g., Workato) to build integrations, enable automation, and scale reporting.
  • Leadership: 10+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ years in a people leadership or program ownership role within a finance or transformation team.
  • Strategic Impact: Experience with influencing strategy, driving tactics, and overseeing the execution of financial systems projects that align with broader business goals.
  • Controls-Aware: Strong understanding of SOX, SOD, and audit considerations in system design and deployment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Business Administration or a related field is required

Bonus points:
  • NetSuite Certified Developer/Administrator or Consultant preferred
  • Public Company/Audit/SOD and SOX Experience
